Golf Fitness is Vital

Golf Fitness Will Improve Your Performance

Golf FitnessIf you are looking for a game that requires strength, coordination, and endurance then golf is the game for you.  Golf is a very physically demanding game.  You will have to develop Golf Fitness if you are going to be any good at it.  Starting a Golf Fitness program is just like any other fitness program.  It will take a lot of dedication, hard work, and most of all consistency.

A good Golf Fitness program should incorporate elements of these three basic types of exercises; strength training, core strengthening, and stretching.  Once your body begins to respond to your regular exercise routine, you will notice a marked improvement in your performance on the golf course.

Golf Fitness Will Improve Your Endurance

Golf FitnessAnyone who has ever played a round of golf really understands that this is a game of precision, control, and endurance.  If you are diligent in your exercise routine you will find that endurance is not an issue any longer.  It is much easier to make an accurate putt if you’re not feeling weak and shaky when you address the ball.  Once you get into shape you might even find yourself skipping the golf cart all toget her and walking the course – just for fun!

Golf Fitness of the Mind

For all of its physicality, it is often easy to forget that golf is also a very mentally challenging game.  A good state of mind is paramount throughout your game play.  Your level of focus will directly affect the level of skill that you develop.

There are a few very important tips to keep in mind when playing golf.  One of the most helpful hints has to do with your focus.  Keep your mind on the shot at hand.  Don’t dwell on previous shots that you’ve just made whether they were good or bad.  A memory of a bad shot will do nothing to help calm your nerves and get you ready to swing the club.  A good shot can almost cause just as much trouble.  Having made great shots can be quite exciting and cause you to make simple errors.  Endeavor to live in the moment.

Golf FitnessDon’t allow yourself to dwell on negative thoughts about your skill and performance.  Actively take charge of the kinds of thoughts that you allow to remain in your mind.  It will take some practice, but you must analyze your thoughts.  If a thought does not build you up, then you must cast it aside.  Golf requires confidence and you can’t be confident if you continually dwell on your shortcomings.  In short, try to see the glass half full when playing golf.  It will build you up mentally and you will have a more pleasant day all around.

Golf Fitness of the mind might be a more challenging task than Golf Fitness of the body.  When your physical workout is over you can hit the showers and rest, but Golf Fitness of the mind is a continual growing process.  However, the rewards of positive thinking are well worth the effort to achieve it.
